Karl Mechtler - Head of Protein Chemistry Facility

Ines Steinmacher - Techn. Assistant

Susanne Opravil - Techn. Assistant

Susanne is the main operator of the brand new LTQ Orbitrap Velos mass spectrometer (the one without ETD) and involved in the preparation of the samples. Besides, she takes care of the ordering business and handles the shipments.

Michael Mazanek - Techn. Assistant

Better known as mazi and main operator of a state-of-the-art mass spectrometer - the "LTQ Orbitrap Velos with ETD", he is also responsible for the strong cation exchange chromatography prior to a reversed phase separation. To support the group with tailor made programs and scripts, for example to handle large datasets in a database, is also in his field of work like maintaining the labhomepage and core facility site of the protein chemistry facility.

Gabriela Krssakova - Techn. Assistant

Richard Imre - Techn. Assistant

Richard is doing a big part of the sample identifications using bioinformatic tools and programs. If there is demand, he is also looking for potential post translational modifications, especially for phosphorylations. Storing and managing of measured data falls in his field of responsibility too.

Otto Hudecz - Techn. Assistant

As data interpretation, evaluation and statistics are important tasks Otto is bioinformatically dealing with high mass accuracy data mainly deriving from the LTQ Orbitrap XL and the LTQ Orbitrap Velos. After 4 years of focusing on identification of mitotic protein complexes and phosphorylation site mapping on identified subunits within the MitoCheck project he now is mainly interested in protein quantification (label-free, iTRAQ, SILAC), in identification of post-translational modifications and in de novo sequencing.

Mathias Madalinski - Techn. Assistant

Thomas Köcher - Postdoc

Elisabeth Roitinger - Postdoc

Werner Straube - Postdoc

Nikolai Mischerikow - Postdoc

Christoph Jüschke - Postdoc

Christoph is interested in integrating quantitative proteomics data with transcriptomics data and extracting experimentally testable hypotheses. He focuses on the biological development of the nervous system in model organisms.

Peter Pichler - Postdoc
