Molecular Biology Service

Welcome to the Molecular Biologys Service

The Molecular Biology Service Facility offers state of the art technologies to IMP, IMBA and GMI. The former Genomics Facility and the General Service Facility are now joined together under the name of Molecular Biology Service. The facility provides high throughput  technologies like multiplexed-based assays such as SNP Discovery and Genotyping (BeadXpress Reader)  and Microarray technologies. We also support scientists with robotic liquid handling devices to perform Plasmid preparation and Genomic DNA Isolation.

Sanger Sequencing, antibody production, oligo ordering and making compentent cells are one of the major tasks from our facility.

Our  cDNA microarrays are spotted in house which enables us to make experiments at low costs. Clones from RIKEN (Fantom III) are PCR amplified and spotted on to amino silane sildes. We use Agilent arrays as a second microarray platform.

As an extra service we also provide clones from our RIKEN clone repository where researchers have the possibility to search in our database and ask for a specific clone.
