Policy
Training
In the Histolab, all instrumentation requires training and only trained users are allowed access. Basic training is provided by Histo Facility staff only, users must not train other users! To schedule a training slot, please see Histo Facility staff as early as possible. If you have not used instrumentation for a while, please see Histo Facility staff for an update on usage and - if required - retraining.
Cost Assignment
Routine reagents and consumables for histology are provided by the Histo Facility. Reagents and consumables specific to individual experiments have to be provided by the users at their own cost, e.g., primary antibodies, special grid types, ...
Booking
Most instruments in the Histolab can be booked via GRM3. If you book an instrument, please do so no longer than required and remove the booking if you won't use it. For instruments with high usage, please inform Histo Facility staff if you cancel a booking on short notice. Any booking is void if the user does not show up 30 minutes after it has begun. To retain flexibility, there are restrictions in booking for some instruments that you will be informed about upon training. However, feel free to use all instruments as long as you wish in the time they are not reserved. Please leave a comment if anything noteworthy happens, e.g. the instrument is not performing as well as usual.
Publications
If you present data obtained with support of the Histo Facility (papers or presentations), please acknowledge the staff member(s) who was helping you and the "IMP-IMBA-GMI Histology Facility". Good scientific practice demands that members of the Facility who have contributed intelllectually to a publication will be considered as co-authors.
Data Storage
Right after making pictures, data can be stored in the personal folders on the IMP/IMBA server.
