M18 - LSM DUO

System Description

The M18 system is a laser scanning confocal microscope (LSM 5 DUO) consisting of two confocal scan heads - a LSM510 point scanner and a LSM 5 LIVE fast line scanner (up to 120fps at 512x512 pixels). The scanners can be used individual or in combination. The LSM 5 Live scan head allows to acquire 2, the LSM 510 scan head 3 fluorescence channels simultaneously along with the transmitted light image (CHD-T-PMT). The system is equipped with temperature, CO2 and humidity control and a motorized xyz stage.

This makes this system suitable for live cell confocal imaging and, using the combination of the two scanners, for all so-called "F-techniques" such as FRAP, FLIP, FRET etc. The physiology macro delivers instant intensity measurements.
